Recessional

  • Composition arranged in planes parallel to the plane of the canvass
  • For example, in figure A, the front plane of the staircase is arranged parallel to the plane of the throne platform. All the figures are placed parallel to the staircase plane.
  • Composition arranged at an angle to the plane of the canvas
  • For example, in figure B, the composition of the figures are arranged at an angle and recedes into depth from left to right.
